We believe
Coaching at its core is about human connection.
Coaching reduces stress and anxiety, builds self-compassion, and supports preventative healthcare. Research shows that in around two and a half sessions, nearly three quarters of people feel real relief from elevated depression and anxiety.
But right now there's a disconnect.
On one side, millions of people would benefit from a coach and simply can't afford one. The average rate sits around $254 an hour, enough to take a third of a household's monthly discretionary budget. Coaching has become a luxury rather than an accessible tool for wellbeing.
On the other side, there's a community of gifted, trained coaches ready to share their calling with the world. Turning that passion into a livelihood takes experience. Advancing through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) credentials requires hundreds, sometimes thousands, of paid coaching hours. Too many talented coaches get stuck at this hurdle, unable to reach the people who need them most.
We started Laven to bring these two worlds together.
By letting coaches offer sessions on a sliding scale, we open access to more people. People get affordable, high quality support when they need it. Coaches earn the paid hours that move them from certified to credentialed, and build a sustainable, livable income.
Laven is a community built on connection and belonging. Our vision is a world where everyone has the support they need, and anyone can share their gifts.
